FMWW Criticizes County's Proposed Grading Ordinance

UPDATEFinal Ordinance now posted.

This ordinance will amend the Sonoma County Code to consolidate all grading, drainage and vineyard and orchard development related code provisions into one comprehensive chapter.

In other words, it will make all grading and vineyard conversions "ministerial actions," thereby "...circumventing any meaningful environmental review and public disclosure and participation" according to Ray Krauss.

To read our letter to the Board of Supervisor, click on FMWW's Critique of Grading Ordinance (PDF, 122KB).

To see additional documents, including a draft of the proposed ordinance, the county's staff report and newspaper articles, go to our Documents section, Grading Ordinance folder.
